Web poker has become world celebrated lately, with televised events and celebrity poker game events. Its universal appeal, though, stretches back in fact a bit farther than its TV ratings. Over the years several variations on the first poker game have been created, including a few games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these games. Regardless of the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely related to 21 than old guard poker, in that the gamblers bet against the dealer instead of the other players. The winning hands, are the long-standing poker hands. There is no conniving or other kinds of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up prior to the croupier announcing "No further bets." At that point, both you and the house and of course every one of the different players acquire five cards each. Once you have observed your hand and the casino's first card, you must in turn make a call wager or surrender. The call wager's value is equal to your original ante, meaning that the risks will have doubled. Surrendering means that your bet goes directly to the house. After the wager comes the showdown. If the house does not have ace/king or greater, your bet is returned, including an amount in accordance with the ante. If the dealer has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand beats the dealer's hand. The bank pays out chips even with your wager and fixed odds on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Equal for a pair or high card
  • 2-1 for two pairs
  • 3-1 for 3 of a kind
  • four to one for a straight
  • 5-1 for a flush
  • 7-1 for a full house
  • twenty to one for a four of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
