Pai Gow Poker is a modern game with ancient origins. Founded on the old Chinese tile game and the modern American variation of poker, Pai Gow poker joins the far east with the west in a great game for starting players.

Pai Gow is a poker game that puts the gambler against the house, unlike nearly all other poker games that players wager with other gamblers. By playing against the dealer, starting players don't have to worry about other, more advanced players taking their cash.

An additional Pai Gow advantage is the fairly leisurely game pace, novices can take their time and scheme while not having to make quick decisions.

It's also easier to play for a very long time with only a tiny amount of cash since, to lose, each of your hands needs to be under both of the houses hands.

Pai Gow uses 53 cards; the regular 52-card basic deck and a single joker. The player is dealt 7 cards face up and the house gets seven cards faces hidden.

A 5 card hand and one two card hand need to be put together from the seven cards dealt, the five card hand has to be better than the two card hand. To succeed, a player is required to have both of his hand values to be better than the casino's.
