Let's learn a diverse type of poker other than Texas hold'em, five card stud, five card draw and Omaha. Yes, pai gow poker. Now you have to be wondering that double-hand sounds a little Chinese; yes you're right this game is a mixture of the Chinese game pai gow and our very own US poker. Certainly this is not 1 of the most well-known types of poker but still it's widely played. It may be bet by up to 7 gamblers.

It is bet with one deck of fifty-two cards, plus a joker. Oddly enough, the joker may be utilized only as an ace, to complete a straight, a flush, a straight flush, or a royal flush. The critical element here to remember is apart from the usual ranking of hands we have one more succeeding hand which is "5 Aces" (five aces such as the joker). Surprisingly, five aces defeat all other hands which includes royal flush.

Every gambler is dealt seven cards. The cards are organized to make 2 hands; a 2 card hand and a 5 card hand. The five card hand must rank greater or be equal to the two card hand. Lastly each of your hands have to rank greater than each of your oppositions hands (each 5 and 2 card hands). Further the two card hand can only have two combinations; 1 pair and high card.

Following the cards are arranged in to 2 hands, they are positioned on the table face down. Once you place them down, you can not touch them. The croupier will flip over his cards and make his hands. Each players hand is compared to the croupier's hands. If the player wins 1 hand and manages to lose the other, this is known as "push" and no money is exchanged. If dealer wins both hands then they captures the players wager and the opposite way round. Now what if there's a tie, the only edge with the dealer here is he/she is victorious on all ties.

After the hand is wagered, the following person clock-wise becomes the dealer and the following hand is bet. The main disadvantage to this game is that there's no talent required and you depend too much on luck. Also the odds are negative compared to playing with a pot.
